  • Are you a parent or carer of a child under 10?
  • Do you sometimes struggle to help your child look after their teeth?

  • Or has your child had to have teeth extracted?
  • Do you know parents or carers with the same challenge?
  • Do you enjoy chatting with others and listening to their experiences?
  • Do you want to help make a difference by getting people’s voice heard
  • Do you live in Banbury Ruscote or Neithrop?
  • Or are you a parent/carer with lived experience of looking after a child with autism and/or a child with learning disabilities

We are looking for Oral Health Community Connectors, who would:

  • Reach out to parents, family members and carers about their experiences – listen to what works and what’s hard when supporting children under 10 to look after their oral health
  • Have some time to spare to reach five other parents or carers between November 2023 and February 2024 (to suit your own time)
  • Share what you hear with people who make decisions about oral health (NHS and council) and help make practical suggestions and solutions to help families support under 10’s to look after their oral health

What support would you get?

  • Support from Healthwatch Oxfordshire to be a connector
  • Expenses paid, plus vouchers to the value of £200 for taking part in the project, paid in stages
  • Online training and skills to support you to listen and collect people’s insights, and to learn about oral health

For more information please call 01865 520520 and ask to speak to Veronica or Jaz or send a message to hello@healthwatchoxfordshire.co.uk and one of them will get back to you.
